Development of the Renewable Energy Market in Ukraine
El texto examina el estado del mercado de energías renovables ucraniano tras la invasión rusa, con un 25% de la capacidad instalada bajo ocupación y una fuerte demanda de nueva generación y capacidad de balance. Los autores describen los acuerdos de cooperación firmados en la Conferencia de Recuperación de Berlín de junio de 2024 y la subasta prevista para los primeros 100 MW. Detallan además la Resolución N.º 232, que simplifica la participación en subastas e introduce contratos por diferencia en lugar de tarifa fija, la Resolución N.º 227 sobre garantías de origen y la Resolución N.º 1172 de la NEURC sobre subastas especiales de servicios auxiliares.

Vitaliy Radchenko has been Re-Elected as the Co-Chair of the Chamber Energy Committee. Vitaliy Radchenko, Managing Partner at CMS Ukraine (CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang) and Head of Energy and Climate change has been re-elected as the Co-Chair of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine Energy Committee. Given the energy challenges Ukraine is facing today, as one of the co-heads of the Energy Committee, Vitaliy will focus his efforts on unlocking private investments in gas-fired generation, renewables, energy storage, and interconnectors, as well as improving conditions for access to financing and war risks insurance products for businesses operating in or looking to invest into Ukraine.
Joint Venture to Strengthen Engagement in Ukraine. CMS advises GOLDBECK SOLAR Investment on the establishment of GOLDBECK SOLAR Investment Ukraine. GOLDBECK SOLAR Investment and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have signed an agreement to establish the joint venture company GOLDBECK SOLAR Investment Ukraine on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference. Completion of the transaction is subject to the usual regulatory approvals. The aim of the joint venture is to develop, finance, build and operate solar energy projects in Ukraine, thereby supporting Ukraine’s energy independence and resilience. GOLDBECK SOLAR Investment Ukraine plans to realize up to 500 MWp of solar projects in the next three to five years. Construction of the first solar park is set to begin in autumn 2024. GOLDBECK SOLAR wants to set an example with the joint venture. The company sees great potential in Ukraine and is confident that it will not only make a sustainable contribution to the country’s energy supply, but also encourage other companies to follow this path.
